How coaching works

Giving you support to achieve your goals - online or in person

the first step is the hardest!

Well done – you’ve made it this far!

It’s a big step to seek help for whatever it is you’re looking for in a coach and now you’ve taken that step, we want to tell you a bit more about how we work at coachformylife.com.

Our philosophy is that we are not here to tell you what you should do with your life, your career or your business. We are here to give you the space and support you need to decide how you will identify and achieve the goals which will lead you to a happier, more fulfilled life.

Anything you share with one of our coaches remains confidential, so we provide a safe space for you to work through where you are and work out where you are going.

how we get started

It’s really important that your choice of coach is a good match for you and that you feel comfortable with them. That’s why we always start with a 20 minute, no obligation, introductory discussion with you to make sure we’re a good match and you’re going to get what you want from the relationship.

We’ll ask you a few questions to help us work out what the best way of working with you might be and you can ask us any questions you might have.

Once we’ve established that we’re a good match we’ll then arrange our first coaching session.

What happens in a coaching session?

To get the most out of coaching, you need to put effort into it, so don’t be surprised if you find you do a lot of talking during a session. Your coach will be helping you find the right answers and ways in which you can turn your aspirations into actions.

We hold coaching sessions either in person or by video conferencing using Zoom, Skype or FaceTime, depending on your preference. Each session normally lasts around 50 minutes – we find that any longer can sometimes reduce the effectiveness of the discussion. A sharp focus on what actions arise from our discussions is really important.

You can expect to have some actions to take away from each session – don’t worry, we’ll make sure that your coach records those and shares them with you after the meeting. We’d normally review progress at our next session.

How often and how much does it cost?

There isn’t a single answer to how often you and your coach need to meet. It’s unlikely you’ll get any real, long lasting benefits from a single discussion, but the number of times you need to meet your coach will vary, depending on what your situation is.

Sometimes a weekly session is the right frequency of meeting for one client, but for others they might get most benefit out of speaking once a month – it all depends on what you want to get from our coaches. Our introductory session will help you and your coach decide on what sort of meeting pattern is right for you.

And now the big question! How much does it cost? Our coaches charge a set fee for each session – that fee is a little more for face to face meetings. We’re not cheap but we believe we offer value for money.

We do also offer a discount if you book and pay for a number of sessions in advance.
